When we first moved into our home, which use to be a farmhouse dating back to the 18th century (then turned into the village bakery), the living room felt cold, dark and in need of a revamp. Our first idea was to lay laminate down which we did but after 3 years the room still felt cold and in need of an extra layer of warmth.
After a bit of contemplation (although having a toddler and with another little one on the way, laminate seemed the safer choice) we decided to add carpet into our living room. And it was the best decision we made for this space.
Replacing our wooden floor with a luxurious wool carpet from Brockway added that layer of warmth, texture and depth that we were looking for. Following a few weeks of looking at many samples, as they have such a beautiful range and each carpet is as unique as the other, we chose the Elements range in “chalk” colourway, which was a great decision as it’s neutral tones - a warm light greige, along with the soft wool texture creates a cosy and welcoming feel within the space. One of our favourite things to do is to walk barefoot in our lounge with the most luxurious soft sensation under our feet. This room is now a space for us to relax and feel calm, our own little sanctuary
